Safe work practices and procedures are means of controlling potential hazards in the workplace. They should be documented and formally communicated to workers as means of ensuing work is performed in a safe manor. It is important that management and workers regularly review practices and procedures to ensure they are appropriate for the specific job task. While on the job, safe work practices and procedures should become part of everyone’s “way of life”. This analysis will assist participants to identify hazards, improve communication between workers and supervisors, and promote safe work habits. By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Recognize health and safety hazards, identify contributing factors, assess hazards, control hazards, evaluate the controls, and conduct a job hazard analysis.
